Author Ron Mead holds an M.F.A. degree from American University, Washington, D.C. While in Washington, D.C., Ron developed and conducted international communication skills workshops for the federal government such as Constructive Conflict Resolution, Interpersonal Communications, Techniques of Negotiation, and Performance Appraisal: Counseling and Feedback. Also, while in DC, Ron Mead edited technical documents for the Department of the Navy.
As a guest speaker, Mead has spoken at national computer conferences and for organizations such as the Smithsonian, NASA, Federal Women's Program, and the Air Force.
As a journalist, Ron Mead wrote a Human Resources column for the award-wining nationwide publication Government Computer News. Mead's column was voted "best column" by its readers.
In Tucson, Ron conducted parenting skills workshops for organizations such as Head Start, Federal Corrections, and the Adult Probation Education Office. Author Ron Mead and his wife Jane also develop and conduct marriage workshops.
Currently, at the University of Phoenix, author Ron Mead teaches classes in writing, literature, ethics, critical thinking, diversity, popular culture, film, and the fine arts. As a corporate trainer, Mead develops and conducts customer service, writing, management, and interpersonal communication workshops. His most recent workshop is entitled Connecting with Others: Regaining the Lost Art of Conversation.
